A global gathering inspired by Reiki,
bringing people together across countries, languages and traditions,
with one shared wish for world peace.
The Japanese word 叶う — Kanau means for a dream or wish to come true—to be fulfilled or realized.
Yet Kanau carries a feeling deeper than simply achieving something. It suggests that things come together naturally, at the right time, allowing what is meant to be to find its way into our lives.
Our shared wish is for a world filled with peace, love and happiness.
We believe that this begins within each one of us. When we find peace within ourselves, that peace reaches the people around us. It flows into our relationships, our communities and, little by little, into the world.
World peace begins with inner peace.
Reiki is the energy within us, the energy around us and the energy we all share.
It is more than a method of physical healing. Reiki is a simple yet profound practice that helps us reconnect with ourselves, with one another and with the greater universe of which we are all a part.
Through Reiki, we can quiet the noise, return to balance and discover a deeper sense of peace within ourselves. From that inner state, we begin to live with greater awareness, compassion and love.
And when one person becomes more peaceful, the world around them becomes a little more peaceful too.
Inner peace becomes shared peace. Shared peace becomes world peace.
On November 11, 2026, people around the world will come together for World Reiki Day—a global gathering dedicated to love, happiness and peace.
In-person events will take place in Nagoya, Japan, and Hong Kong, while Japan Reiki Association chapters and Reiki communities from different parts of the world join a multilingual YouTube livestream marathon.
Throughout the day, the livestream will move across countries, languages and time zones. The program will include guided meditations, practical Reiki-inspired experiences, meaningful conversations and live Q&A. Some sessions will be presented live, while others will be specially recorded for the event.
Whether you already practise Reiki or are discovering it for the first time, you are welcome to join us.

Reiki began in Japan more than a century ago. As we look toward its next hundred years, the Japan Reiki Association believes we have a responsibility to preserve its Japanese roots while helping its deeper purpose reach more people around the world.
Reiki is not only about what happens beneath our hands. It invites us to consider how we live, how we connect with others and what makes life meaningful.
Our hope is that Reiki will continue to support physical and emotional well-being while also being recognized as a path toward human elevation—helping each of us live with greater awareness, purpose, love and inner peace.
World Reiki Day is a global initiative led by the Japan Reiki Association and brought to life in collaboration with Reiki practitioners, teachers and communities around the world.
We may come from different places and practise in different ways, but on this day, we come together with one shared wish:
May Reiki continue to uplift humanity—and may peace find its way from our hearts into the world.
