World Reiki Day
November 11, 2026
In Person and Online
A global gathering inspired by Reiki,
bringing people together across countries, languages and traditions,
with one shared wish for world peace.
THE HEART OF WORLD REIKI DAY 2026
When a Wish Comes True
The Japanese word 叶う — Kanau means for a dream or wish to come true—to be fulfilled or realized.
Yet Kanau carries a feeling deeper than simply achieving something. It suggests that things come together naturally, at the right time, allowing what is meant to be to find its way into our lives.
Our shared wish is for a world filled with peace, love and happiness.
We believe that this begins within each one of us. When we find peace within ourselves, that peace reaches the people around us. It flows into our relationships, our communities and, little by little, into the world.
World peace begins with inner peace.
WHY REIKI?
The Energy That Connects Us
Reiki is the energy within us, the energy around us and the energy we all share.
It is more than a method of physical healing. Reiki is a simple yet profound practice that helps us reconnect with ourselves, with one another and with the greater universe of which we are all a part.
Through Reiki, we can quiet the noise, return to balance and discover a deeper sense of peace within ourselves. From that inner state, we begin to live with greater awareness, compassion and love.
And when one person becomes more peaceful, the world around them becomes a little more peaceful too.
Inner peace becomes shared peace. Shared peace becomes world peace.
WORLD REIKI DAY 2026
In Person and Online. Together in Intention.
On November 11, 2026, people around the world are invited to come together for World Reiki Day.
In-person events will take place in Nagoya and Hong Kong. An online program will bring the celebration to a wider global community through live broadcasts in English and French, along with special videos recorded for the occasion.
The program will include guided meditations, practical Reiki-inspired experiences, reflections and meaningful conversations—all created to help people experience Reiki and connect with its message of love and peace.

OUR PURPOSE
Carrying Reiki Into the Next Hundred Years
Reiki began in Japan more than a century ago. We honour Usui Mikao and all those who preserved, practised and carried Reiki through its first hundred years. Because of them, Reiki has reached our hands and our lives today.
But Reiki is not only something we inherit from the past. It is a living practice, something we carry through the way we practise it, share it and live it each day.
The next hundred years are now in our hands.
Not because Reiki belongs to us, but because its future will be shaped by each person who chooses to carry it forward.
World Reiki Day was created from this belief. Led by the Japan Reiki Association and brought to life in collaboration with Reiki practitioners, teachers and communities around the world, it is an opportunity to honour Reiki’s roots while considering what we will pass on to those who come after us.
We may come from different places and practise in different ways, but on this day, we come together with one shared wish:
May Reiki continue to uplift humanity, and may peace find its way from our hearts into the world.
